I bought this to put over the table in my kitchen and also because it was natural wood, as I wanted to paint it black to co-ordinate with my colors. Everyone commented on it. I ran the cord through chain so I could hang it from a hook in ceiling - voila!! It added to the oriental feel I had - love it!!! It also would look great on a table -

Looks wonderful in our craftsman-style house. I agree with the reviewer who said it is best with a chain added. Pain in the butt to pry open the links and weave the cord through the chain (12-inch white chain purchased from a home center), but well worth the effort. Hung it from a white plant bracket suspended between two kitchen windows and used cord cover to hide the cord running across the top of the window frame and down the other side. Everyone who sees it admires it.

I kind of like this lamp. It's made well and with a 60 watt bulb, it illuminates nicely. I found it a little odd that the actual electrical cord held the lamp on the hooks (provided). Although the lamp is very light, I would have preferred to have a thin, simple chain as the support. It's something you can surely add to later. The cord is nice and long with the switch low enough that you can hang the lamp pretty high if you wanted to. It's nice in the corned of a room or above a small dining table.
stylish value!

Very satisfied with this lamp ('cherry rosewood' color) - although cheap, it's nicely put together and looks great in my apartment kitchen to replace the boring metal hanging light. I removed the bulb assembly (comes with a cord and one of those click-wheel switces on the cord) and substituted the existing light hanging down from the kitchen ceiling.
It also shipped in a double-box with bubble wrap inbetween, quite sturdy.
highly recommended!
