| I bought this lamp for my wife, and at the beginning she did not like it, but now as she is specting our second baby, she uses this lamp for relaxation therapy, the lamp is so cool it looks like a real lightning storm inside, it does not iluminate a room but it creates atmosfere. |

I saw this out here and thought that the lightning look would be cool in the bathroom, but it really does not give out any noticable light at all. I guess, I just expected enough light to be like a nightlight or something, but anyway it is a great mood light over in a dark room the the house. It does not have any fluid in it, I was not sure when I bought it, if it did or not, it just did not really matter to me, just so that you know it is a standard type of lamp, kinda, the fillament is like a 'Telsa Coil' type of unit. There is an easy on of knob on the front of it, so you do not have to search the power cord for the wheel type of switch. Also, just so that you know, there is no metal on the base or the top it is made out of plastic, that was OK for me. You know, it is not a heavy lamp at all, very lightweight over all, no metal or fluid.
Update 10/05/2009:
After about three weeks of daily use, it would not turn on anymore. If you squeezed the base of it, it would turn on until you released your squeese, then off again. So I returned it to Amazon very easily and free but I did not request a replacement because of all the bad reviews about Lava lamps these days. I really hated to lower my 5 star rating to 3, but if they do not operate correctly, I just have to give them this. |
