MINI lava lamp!

It's a cute little lava lamp, but they don't make it clear that it is NOT standard lava lamp size. It is about half the size of a regular lava lamp.
If you are looking for a small one, this one worked great after 2 days (it typically takes a few times for the lava to get working properly and I've been using it for 3 months almost everyday). I did end up having to buy a regular lava lamp which was the size I wanted, but now I have them both at my desk (the same ones pink lava, purplish water) and both work well.
5 stars for working well

I have a suggestion

Okay, I love my 14-inch lava lamp and was getting another one for the office. I didn't realize this was 10 inches in height as I'm not great at reading the details...but the size grew on me. However, the one I received, which is exactly like the photo on the box has clear 'goo' not opaque, like my larger one or the one in the picture...the clear 'goo' looks cheesy, I think. It doesn't catch the light right like the standard, opaque goo - why change something perfect?
Now, here's my suggestion: I bought (from Amazon) a Credenza Lamp Dimmer by Lutron (TT-300) to make the larger lava lamp I have a little less hot...that way I can control how much it oozes - I prefer just a single bubble of goo floating halfway up...not all the bubbles clinging to the top when it gets really hot. This is a portable dimmer that you plug into the wall and then plug the lamp into it and so it's not something you have to install. It makes your Lava Lamp experience so much better! Try it... |

| The lite was nice when I first got it. In a short period of time, the blue paint on the glass started coming off in small dots. It still serves it's purpose as a night light but I was disappointed in the quality. Since it was not expensive, I am keeping it. Otherwise I would have tried to return it. |

I bought this lava lamp as I always wanted one. I love it, it is one of my treasures at home. This is the original lava lamp as you would see it in the cylinder where it comes wrapped.
It happened that my maid dropped it once, AND IT DID NOT BREAK!!! I was shocked!! Then, other day I accidently dropped it again, AND NOTHING HAPPENED TO IT!
I would probably get another one in the future |

| This lava lamp was exactly as described. It has purple liquid which makes it light up without being blinding. My daughter uses it as her nightlight. It's the perfect size. |
